May 22, 2011 Victory of Heart – Octain – Picture Prompt by Walter Parada – @onestoppoetry
The victory that matters is you
smashing through my walls leaving piles,
conquering me with loving smiles.
Your arms crush me for the breakthrough.
Holding your liege, sweet lips besiege,
my soul enveloped by your coup.
Seizing my heart with gentle wiles,
true victory that matters is you.

Interesting view to see people as having to have walls to be broken down to love. I see ideals and idols in this too. Thank you for the ponder!

“true victory that matters is you” – I have always been intrigued and compelled by imagery of warrior and love – how closely they connect – war making words are so parallel to those of winning a mate… very clean…

Thank you, Sam. I am glad you appreciate the wordplay between war and love.

I like that you spun this about conquering the heart.
“Holding your liege, sweet lips besiege,
my soul enveloped by your coup.”

Like most of those who’ve read your poem, I, too, love how you wrote a love poem with the cold too perfect-to-be-love prompt! Wonderful take, indeed.
