Knight of the Heart (knightsheart)

Poetry, Short stories, Blog, Titan

She remembers Great Depression hunger,
The man coming to sell the family farm.

She remembers the beginning of war,
Going to work in the factories.

She remembers the end of war kisses,
The passions through their night’s delight of joys.

She remembers the little church wedding,
Raising children who would be our teachers.

She remembers when the world almost ended,
With air raid sirens and backyard bomb shelters.

She remembers sending sons to more war,
Crying for all sons that did not come back.

She remembers all grandchildren’s birthdays,
Showing pictures as if they were still young.

She does not remember why no one comes,
With new pictures to listen to her stories.
